Merry Christmas

Christmas Eve day and Walter and I thought we should do something outside and as far away from malls as we could get. So we decided to do some geocaching.

The first cache was called Walking in the winter wonderland, it involved a short walk through some woods that ended with a 6 foot evergreen tree hidden behind some big pine trees. Everyone that had previously visited left a decoration and by this time, it was a lovely looking Christmas Tree. We left a glass icicle and after a bit of searching found the well camoflaged micro cache logbook.

The second cache we attempted was called The Cheltenham Brickworks. It was also close to home and started at the old buildings that were still standing from the days of the Brickworks. Well, there was a small math calculation, and well, I screwed it up and we set off on a 3 km walk to the hidden cache. After walking about 2.5 km through very wet and heavy snow...Walter thought we should recheck our calculations and this was when we realized I had added wrong and we had passed the cache about 1.5 km ago. So, after transferring the camera bag to my back, as punishment, we turned around and headed back to the correct location. Finding the actual cache did not take too much effort... (we should up our difficulty level to 2 stars) and then we headed the short 1 km walk back to the car.

Overall we had a great time and was able to fit in some exercise. By the time we finished our geocaching my poor little car needed a bath to remove all the lovely Terra Cotta dirt. So after cleaning the car and grabing a quick bite to eat we enjoyed a fun evening with the Bigg Family with a movie.

Walter and I think spending Christmas Eve day geocaching may just have to become a tradition.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!
