Wood, wood, and more wood.
Our house has a lovely wood stove. Wood stoves require wood. Hence the gathering, buying, and stacking of (what seems like) large amounts of the stuff.
We cut up some fallen trees from the "back forty", transported to the house with the tractor, split, and then stacked. We thought that wasn't enough so we bought a full cord and had it delivered. Which also required the tractor to bring it from the front of the house to the back, followed by more stacking.
